Being the first of its kind, Scarlet Mela sets a new and safe space that welcomes people to tell their stories through their work– countered ideas to be discussed, debated and celebrated.
Each dance form has their own unique movements and gestures, expressing religious themes and cultures. As dancers progress around the open stage, the movement of their bodies paint patterns on the floor.

FESTIVAL IDENTITY Real dancers from various racial groups (Malay, Chinese, Indian) are invited to document their dance and footwork. As each group has its own unique steps due to differing tempos and rhythms, we wanted to capture that on paper.
The documented footprints are layered to form the festival’s key visual and collateral for the website and social media.
