AS IT IS
3D TYPOGRAPHY, VISUAL IDENTITY, SOCIAL MEDIAAS IT IS is a presentation by metal fabrication workshop, Baremetalco, and 4 artists. Developed over 3 months, the partnership explored the parameters of what a metal workshop can be. Is it as malleable as the material itself? What is the dynamic between the labours of visual arts, craft and fabrication?
POSTER The poster articulates the discord of experimentation; the manipulation of textures and mediums as to their insinuations of aspiration, conflict and passion. The project takes its name from the “as-is” corner of IKEA, where showroom pieces receive a second life. Here, artists examine the potential of scrap metal as material refurbished and reframed. Remnants found in the workshop reactivated as artwork.
